Lobo Ashley Lobo, as he is fondly called by his co-judges on India’s Dancing Superstar, has been teaching dance for more than a decade now. He has been to Sydney, Australia and learned dance with Bodenweiser Dance Centre and Sydney Dance Company. He is trained in classical ballet, jazz, funk and contemporary for five years and has performed at various musicals in Australia. He started the Danceworx Academy in 1998 and The Danceworx Repertory Company in 2001. Today the Academy has 15 studios and 4500 students in Delhi and three studios and 600 students in Mumbai. He has choreographed for Bollywood films like Dhoom, Love Aaj Kal, Namastey London, Aisha, Jab We Met, and many more. He has been teaching dance to the common man and has mastered the art of picking worthy talent out of the lot. He is very particular about the technique. For him a good dancer is one who has mastered his technique to the core. He also believes in connect that a dancer forms with the viewer while he performs. If a dancer doesn’t connect with him, then that dancer is not the one he is looking for. Among the three judges he is a tough nut to crack for any contestant.
